SAN JOSE, Costa Rica (AP) - A 20-year-old Kazakhstan man turned himself over to police on Friday, ending a three-hour standoff and safely releasing a captive he held inside the Russian Embassy in Costa Rica, police said.

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica (AP) - Costa Rica's security minister said an armed man took eight hostages Friday at the Russian Embassy in Costa Rica, but the ambassador told a local television station by phone that there were no hostages.
