North Korea requests fertilizer aid

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - Impoverished North Korea has requested 150,000 tons of fertilizer from South Korea, months after the communist nation demanded that the U.N. World Food Program halt emergency food shipments, an official said Thursday.
 
Activists claim Yahoo again helped China

BEIJING (AP) - Yahoo Inc. has provided Chinese authorities with information used to jail one of its users for eight years, an activist group said Thursday _ the second time the U.S.-based Internet firm was accused of helping jail a Chinese user.

USTARZAI, Pakistan (AP) - A suicide bombing ripped through a Shiite procession Thursday in northwestern Pakistan, sparking riots during the Muslim sect's most important holiday. At least 22 people were killed and dozens injured, officials said.

45 Japan cows suspected of having mad cow
