MANIKGANJ, Bangladesh (AP) - A ferry capsized Tuesday in a river in central Bangladesh, and rescuers were searching for more than 100 people still missing and using fishing nets to try to find the sunken boat, police said.

Pakistan: Newsweek retraction 'not enough'

Afghan 'thieves' kidnap Italian aid worker

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - A group described by police as "thieves" claimed responsibility for kidnapping an Italian relief worker in the Afghan capital, police said Tuesday. Italy's foreign minister later said contact had been made with the kidnappers and the hostage was not hurt.
