BEIJING (AP) - China rejected a U.S. appeal to account for prisoners still detained after the violent 1989 crackdown on the Tiananmen Square pro-democracy movement and to re-examine its official verdict on the protests.
 
Kurdish rebels kill four Turkish soldiers

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) - Kurdish rebels ambushed a Turkish commando unit overnight, killing four soldiers and wounding one in southeastern Turkey as the rebel command threatened to escalate violence across the country, news reports said Sunday.
