NEW DELHI (AP) - A fire broke out at a fireworks factory in southern India on Saturday, killing at least 20 workers and injuring 15 others, a news agency reported.

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - American warplanes bombed a suspected Taliban compound in an area where an elite U.S. military team has been missing for five days in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan, a U.S. military spokesman said Saturday.
 
Passengers on flooded Indian train saved

NEW DELHI (AP) - Rescuers saved all 354 passengers who were trapped for days in a train that had slowly filled with flood water to neck height, officials said Saturday as raging monsoons continued to submerge vast swaths of Indian countryside and forced the evacuation of half a million people.
 
Nine dead in Kashmir skirmishes

JAMMU, India (AP) - Indian soldiers on Saturday killed six Islamic militants who had crossed the mountainous frontier into India's portion of Kashmir from Pakistani territory, the army said. Two rebels and one civilian were killed in a separate gun battle Saturday.
 
Fighting in Afghanistan leaves 20 dead

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (AP) - Hundreds of Afghan troops raided a Taliban hide-out in the mountains of central Afghanistan and 18 rebels and two soldiers were killed in fierce fighting, a senior Afghan official said Saturday.
