Security Council seeks Africa proposals

UNITED NATIONS (AP) - The Security Council on Wednesday asked a U.N. team to come up with proposals for a peacekeeping force in Chad and the Central African Republic that would help thousands affected by spillover fighting from the conflict in neighboring Darfur.

U.S. reportedly targeted 20 in Somalia

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) - Ethiopia's prime minister said Wednesday the U.S. military targeted 20 high-level members of an Islamic movement linked to al-Qaida in an airstrike this week in southern Somalia, attacking quickly before the Islamists could escape.
