Somali lawmakers OK martial law motion

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) - Lawmakers on Saturday authorized the government to declare martial law as the country's internationally recognized leaders struggled to assert their authority after battling an Islamic movement that had controlled much of southern Somalia.
