Prosecutors charge owner in Kenya collapse

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - Prosecutors on Friday charged the owner of a building that collapsed in Nairobi with 14 counts of manslaughter, alleging he did not take proper precautions and failed to follow city bylaws. At least 17 people were killed in the disaster last month.

Annan: U.S. must play major role in Sudan

UNITED NATIONS (AP) - U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan said Thursday he will ask President Bush for the United States to play a major role in a peacekeeping force in Sudan's Darfur region.
