Gunmen kill 5 AU soldiers in west Darfur

N'DJAMENA, Chad (AP) - Gunmen killed five African Union peacekeepers in Sudan's troubled Darfur region along the border with Chad, the AU said Monday _ the deadliest attack on the force since it deployed three years ago.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (AP) - Zimbabwe's main opposition leader Monday called on South African President Thabo Mbeki to help resolve the crisis in the neighboring country, where the government has cracked down on dissent while consolidating power.
