U.S. seeks action from Sudan on Darfur

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AP) - The No. 2 State Department official expressed optimism Thursday that Sudan's leaders will try ending the ethnic violence in the country's Darfur region but said the United States wants more than promises.

Embassy bombing trial in Kenya delayed

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - An Israeli bomb expert and a Kenyan official failed to show up in court Thursday, delaying the resumption of a trial for four men accused of involvement in the 1998 bombing of the U.S. Embassy and a 2003 plot to blow up the new U.S. Embassy.

Police seize illegal ivory in Ethiopia
