Sudan relief efforts could collapse soon

UNITED NATIONS (AP) - The relief effort in Sudan's Darfur region could collapse within weeks unless foreign donors contribute more money and the government eases restrictions that have slowed aid workers, the top U.N. humanitarian official said Thursday.
 
Car bomb at Nigerian military base kills 2

PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria (AP) - Militants battling for a bigger cut of Nigeria's oil revenue exploded a car bomb inside a military base, ending weeks of relative calm with a blast that killed at least two people and sent a fireball into the night sky.
 
Nigeria split over proposal on term limits

ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) - Term limits were embraced across Africa as a check on presidents with dictatorial ambitions. Little wonder, then, that a proposal to change Nigeria's constitution to allow the president a third term has sparked raucous debate.
