HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) - Zimbabwe announced new controls Saturday to clamp down on charities and other humanitarian organizations, including democracy and human rights groups that the government accuses of campaigning against it.
 
Gadhafi urges world to end Darfur crisis

SURT, Libya (AP) - Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi on Saturday urged African, Arab and Western diplomats to work with Sudanese rebels to find an immediate solution to the crisis in Sudan's troubled Darfur region.
 
Somali chief regrets violence; 1,000 die

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) - Somalia's president said Saturday he regretted the heavy fighting that killed more than 1,000 people in the capital in the past month, as residents began collecting rotting bodies from the streets to prepare for burial.
