U.N. vows strong action on staff abuse

GENEVA (AP) - The United Nations will take action against any employees who sexually abuse girls in Liberia, an official said Tuesday in response accusations that aid workers and peacekeepers were trading food for sex with girls left homeless by war.

World leaders urge rebels on Darfur peace

UNITED NATIONS (AP) - Eight foreign ministers led a U.N. Security Council meeting on Tuesday to demand that holdout rebels join the peace deal for Darfur and warned that the fate of the Sudanese region would be a test for the U.N. body.

Zuma apologizes for having unprotected sex

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (AP) - A day after he was acquitted of rape, former Deputy President Jacob Zuma apologized Tuesday for having unprotected sex with an HIV-positive woman but denied he had harmed South Africa's AIDS prevention efforts.
