Moroccan king pulls out of Africa summit

RABAT, Morocco (AP) - Morocco's king has pulled out of the first North African summit in more than a decade, the government confirmed Monday, over Algeria's latest comments in a long-running dispute over independence for Western Sahara.

Africa Union wants gear for use in Darfur

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (AP) - The Africa Union will press donors for six helicopter gunships, 116 armored personnel carriers and other equipment for its peacekeepers struggling to end the humanitarian crisis in Sudan's western Darfur region.
