CAPE TOWN, South Africa (AP) - The economic divide between whites and blacks remains wide in South Africa a decade after the end of apartheid, with blacks faring markedly worse in access to jobs, education, decent housing and electricity, according to a census released Tuesday.

Liberia: Taylor received al-Qaida funds

Militiamen in eastern Congo kill 18

KINSHASA, Congo (AP) - Militiamen in eastern Congo killed at least 18 people and kidnapped at least 50 others in a late-night attack on a village, hacking their victims to death as they ran for safety, a U.N. spokesman said Tuesday.
