U.N-backed court documents Darfur deaths

UNITED NATIONS (AP) - The U.N.-backed court probing war crimes in Darfur has documented thousands of civilian deaths, hundreds of alleged rapes and a "significant number" of massacres that killed hundreds of people at once, the top prosecutor said Wednesday.

Liberia welcomes resolution easing embargo

MONROVIA, Liberia (AP) - Liberia welcomed a United Nations resolution easing an embargo on arms sales to the west African country Wednesday, but it urged the U.N. to go further and lift sanctions barring sales of diamonds and timber.
