Zimbabwe gov't eases price controls

HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) - Zimbabwe's government will allow hotels, restaurants and bars to raise their rates by up to 50 percent, state media reported Saturday, in a relaxation of a price-cutting policy aimed at taming soaring inflation rates in the economically beleaguered country.

Sudan: Darfur rebels killed 41 police

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AP) - The Sudanese government said Saturday that rebels from Darfur killed 41 of its soldiers in a raid outside the region, adding to fears that the conflict is spilling into the rest of Sudan.
