U.N.: World failing to reduce poverty

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (AP) - Time is running out for world leaders to keep their promises to roll back poverty and millions of people will die needlessly over the next decade without drastic changes, the U.N. warned in a major report Wednesday.

Zimbabwe facing bad agricultural season

HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) - Zimbabwe, once a regional breadbasket, is facing its worst agricultural season since independence in 1980, with shortages of seed, fertilizer and equipment threatening next year's harvest before it even has been planted, farmers and other experts said.
