Burundi schools packed after fees scrapped

BUJUMBURA, Burundi (AP) - Classrooms and chairs were scarce at crowded Burundian primary schools as 500,000 children _ nearly double last year's enrollment _ showed up for the first day of classes Monday following the elimination of fees.
 
U.N. agency appeals for aid for Angola

LUANDA, Angola (AP) - Almost half of Angola's children are severely malnourished and at risk from preventable diseases, but a shortage of funds is hindering efforts to expand food deliveries, a U.N. aid agency said Monday.
