ALGIERS, Algeria (AP) - The president escapes an apparent assassination attempt but nearly two dozen others are killed. A suicide bombing by an al-Qaida affiliate leaves at least 28 coast guard officers dead. A car bombing targets European workers and their Algerian police escorts.
