Ex-Chad leader's atty. expects extradition

DAKAR, Senegal (AP) - A lawyer for Chad's former dictator said Tuesday he was confident Hissene Habre would not be extradited to Belgium to stand trial for war crimes allegedly committed during his rule in the 1980s.
 
Ethiopia, Eritrea warned on reigniting war

UNITED NATIONS (AP) - The U.N. Security Council late Tuesday warned Ethiopia and Eritrea against reigniting their border war and urged Eritrea to immediately reverse its ban on all helicopter flights by U.N. peacekeepers.
 
Sudan government, Darfur rebels hold talks

ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) - Sudan's government and rebels from Darfur met Tuesday for a second day of talks in Nigeria, with the visiting Dutch prime minister urging all parties to reach a power-sharing deal by the end of the year.
 
Peacekeepers prepare to leave Sierra Leone
