Islamic militants claim capture of town

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) - Islamic militants said they captured a town in central Somalia on Sunday after they came under attack from pro-government militiamen backed by troops from Ethiopia and a semiautonomous region in northern Somalia.
 
U.N. humanitarian meets Ugandan rebel

RI-KWANGBA, Sudan (AP) - The U.N.'s top humanitarian official helicoptered to a jungle clearing on Sunday to meet with a Ugandan rebel leader accused of war crimes, but he failed to secure immediate freedom for women and children held captive by the insurgent group.
