U.N. says Sudan terrorizing civilians

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AP) - The Sudanese army and government-backed militias are committing acts of "inexplicable terror" against civilians, including children, in Darfur, the U.N.'s top humanitarian official said Saturday.
 
Islamic leader urges 'Greater Somalia'

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) - The leader of the Islamic group that controls much of southern Somalia has revived the idea of a "Greater Somalia" that would incorporate regions of Kenya and Ethiopia _ a move that could further stoke tensions with the neighboring countries.
 
Loser in Congo elections files challenge

Ethiopians protest U.S. mutilation case

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (AP) - About 2,000 people demonstrated on Saturday to demand the release of an Ethiopian immigrant sentenced to 10 years in prison in the United States for mutilating the genitals of his 2-year-old daughter.
