Sudan hails new peacekeeping agreement

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AP) - President Omar al-Bashir's government on Monday hailed a new agreement with the United Nations over peacekeepers in Darfur as a diplomatic breakthrough for Sudan, but said serious differences remain over the force's makeup and command.

Priest who founded AIDS orphanage dies

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - The Rev. Angelo D'Agostino, an American priest who opened one of the first orphanages for HIV-positive children in Kenya and fought to make AIDS drugs affordable to the poor, died Monday of a heart attack. He was 80.
