Hostage killed in Nigeria rescue try

PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria (AP) - One of seven foreign oil workers taken hostage Wednesday was killed and another was wounded during a rescue attempt that also left two kidnappers and a soldier dead, officials said.

Some Sudan refugees prepare to head home

SOBA ARADI CAMP, Sudan (AP) - Some of Sudan's refugees are going home. Not those from Darfur, the vast western region where fighting and alleged genocide rage. But with a separate civil war ended in Sudan's south, some of the more than 1 million refugees who have lived in squatter camps around Khartoum for decades are preparing to go back.
