MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) - A Somali lawmaker bypassed the government and signed an agreement Saturday to end hostilities with the country's powerful Islamic militia, a symbolic gesture that is unlikely to have any real effect.

Tanzanian lawmaker hurt in plane crash

DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania (AP) - A small plane crashed through the roof of a house in northern Tanzania on Saturday, killing one passenger and injuring six others, including a Tanzanian Cabinet minister, police said.
