WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) - Tribal chiefs wearing wreaths of green leaves opened a traditional mourning period Wednesday for the revered queen of New Zealand's indigenous Maori.

NUKU'ALOFA, Tonga (AP) - Taufa'ahau Tupou IV, the king of Tonga and one of the world's longest-reigning monarchs, is gravely ill in a New Zealand hospital, the government of the tiny South Pacific nation said.
