Iraq police search for Algerian diplomats

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Police tightened security in an upscale Baghdad neighborhood Friday as the search intensified for two Algerian diplomats kidnapped there. At least 16 people died in attacks in Baghdad and elsewhere.

49 dead and 200 hurt in Egyptian blasts

SHARM EL-SHEIK, Egypt (AP) - Three car bombs exploded in quick succession in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheik early Saturday, ripping through a hotel and a coffeeshop packed with European and Egyptian tourists. The province governor said at least 49 people died in the deadliest attack in Egypt in nearly a decade.

Rice makes surprise visit to Lebanon
