Iraqis reach breakthrough deal on charter

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Iraqi negotiators reached a breakthrough deal on the constitution Tuesday, and at least one Sunni Arab party said it would now urge its followers to approve the charter in this weekend's referendum. Suicide bombings and other attacks killed more than 50 people in the insurgent campaign aimed at intimidating voters.
 
Sharon pledges progress toward peace

SAN'A, Yemen (AP) - Two AK-47 assault rifles used in a deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Saudi Arabia have been traced to Yemen's Defense Ministry, according to Western and Yemeni officials, raising new fears that the country isn't doing enough to fight terrorism.
 
Turkish co. to build Israeli power station

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) - A Turkish company signed an agreement Tuesday to build a $360 million power station in southern Israel. An Israeli Cabinet minister praised such deals as examples of strengthening ties between the Muslim and Jewish countries.
