Indie group agrees to pay campaign fines

WASHINGTON (AP) - A conservative independent group that ran millions of dollars in ads against Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry in 2004 will pay $750,000 to settle charges that it violated federal campaign laws.
 
Gore: Web may affect campaign finance

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - Former Vice President Al Gore said the rapid expansion of information flow on the Internet could change the future of campaign finance, but that hunger for campaign cash will continue as long as political TV ads remain effective.
