New York Senate endorses Feb. 5 primary

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - The New York legislature overwhelmingly approved a measure Wednesday to move the state's presidential primary up to Feb. 5, a move designed to help its favorite political son and daughter _ Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Rodham Clinton _ in the 2008 race.

Party committees still in debt from 2006

WASHINGTON (AP) - Campaign committees for the two major parties continued to carry debt from the expensive 2006 congressional contests, according to their latest financial disclosure reports.
