Allen, Webb spar in final TV debate

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Republican Sen. George Allen and Democratic challenger Jim Webb sparred over familiar issues from the Iraq war to taxes Monday night in the final televised debate in Virginia's tight, closely watched U.S. Senate race.

WASHINGTON (AP) - In an unusual move, the Republican National Committee is investing heavily in television advertising in Senate races in Ohio, Tennessee and Missouri in what officials describe as a firewall strategy designed to limit Democratic gains in the Nov. 7 elections and maintain the GOP majority.
 
AP: Allen failed to report stock options

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - For the past five years, Sen. George Allen, has failed to tell Congress about stock options he got for his work as a director of a high-tech company. The Virginia Republican also asked the Army to help another business that gave him similar options.
