Winner declared in Florida House race

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - State officials Monday certified Republican Vern Buchanan won the House seat being vacated by Republican Rep. Katherine Harris, though the loser immediately sued for a new election, arguing that touch-screen voting machines had malfunctioned.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A judge on Monday dismissed a woman's attempt to get a restraining order against U.S. Rep.-elect Keith Ellison, with whom she claimed to have had an extramarital affair.
