Bush calls for U.N. action against Syria

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush on Friday said the U.N. should deal quickly and seriously with a report implicating Syria in the assassination of Lebanon's former prime minister, a killing that led to protests and withdrawal of Syrian troops from Lebanon after nearly 30 years as overlord.
 
Bush compares terror war to Reagan's fight

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (AP) - President Bush on Friday compared the war against terrorism to Ronald Reagan's battle against communism and vowed that the United States would prevail over Islamic extremists just as it did in the showdown with the Soviet Union.
 
Aide: Government better prepared for Wilma

WASHINGTON (AP) - The government's Hurricane Katrina preparations "were all wrong" and more communications gear, emergency supplies and people are in Florida ahead of Hurricane Wilma as a result, President Bush's homeland security adviser said Friday.
