Venezuela to trade fuel for farm goods

LA PAZ, Bolivia (AP) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez pressed his crusade to spread his energy influence across South America late Saturday, promising to trade $150 million of diesel fuel annually with Bolivia in return for agricultural goods.

TOKYO (AP) - Japanese stores pulled U.S. beef products from their shelves amid renewed fears of mad cow disease on Saturday, a day after the government said a recent shipment from New York contained cattle parts that are a disease risk.
