Wal-Mart fires worker over eavesdropping

NEW YORK (AP) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said Monday it fired a systems technician who allegedly recorded phone conversations between the company's public relations office and a newspaper reporter. The case is now being investigated by federal authorities.

Microsoft takes aim at Google project

SEATTLE (AP) - Microsoft is taking aim at Google Inc.'s rival book-scanning project, saying the search company "systematically violates copyright." In prepared remarks he is scheduled to deliver Tuesday to a publishing industry group, a Microsoft Corp. lawyer also said Google is cutting into the profits of authors and publishers.
