KPMG to pay $456M, accept monitor

NEW YORK (AP) - The accounting firm KPMG has agreed to pay a $456 million fine and have its business practices overseen by an independent monitor to settle allegations that it sold illegal tax shelters, according to a person familiar with the terms of the deal.
