Productivity, labor costs rise in 2005

WASHINGTON (AP) - The efficiency of U.S. workers increased in 2005 at the slowest rate since the recession year of 2001 while an important gauge of wage pressures rose at the fastest pace in five years, the government reported Thursday.

Dow falls 101 on jump in labor costs

NEW YORK (AP) - A surprise jump in labor costs and ongoing concerns about the Middle East pushed stocks sharply lower Thursday, with small-cap and technology stocks bearing the brunt of the selling. The Dow Jones industrials dropped more than 100 points.
