An estimated 35 million viewers _ the third-biggest audience ever for any "Idol" episode _ watched the tryouts perform for Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul for two hours last Tuesday, according to Nielsen Media Research.

NTSB to release reports on Ebersol crash

DENVER (AP) - The National Transportation Safety Board will release a transcript Thursday of the cockpit voice recording in the 2004 crash of a private jet in Colorado that killed three people, including the 14-year-old son of NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol.
