LOS ANGELES (AP) - Rachel Smith, a journalism graduate from Tennessee, was crowned Miss USA on Friday, winning the contest to replace a titleholder whose reign was marred by a much-publicized struggle with alcoholism.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband provided a DNA sample Friday in the ongoing dispute about the paternity of Anna Nicole Smith's infant daughter, and said he wanted to raise the child if he was the father. Frederic von Anhalt said he's "almost sure" the test will prove he's the father of 6-month-old Dannielynn. He says he carried on a decades-long affair with the former Playboy Playmate of the Year.
 
Regis says he's in pain, but doing well

NEW YORK (AP) - Regis Philbin called "Live With Regis and Kelly" on Friday to report that he's in pain, but doing well, after his recent heart bypass surgery. "Well, you know, I think I'm through the worst of it," Philbin told co-host Kelly Ripa. "I guess I was a little unprepared for, you know, the first week and what they actually do to make this thing happen _ and so, some of it came as quite a shock."
 
Charity auction offers fantasy wish list

Kennedy Memorial is giving bidders a chance to fulfill their celebrity fantasies, including a walk-on role on "Desperate Housewives" or lunch with Richard Gere at his new restaurant. The auction, which started Tuesday and runs through April 6, also includes tickets to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and set visits to "House," "24" and "Boston Legal."
