Garner to become pregnant spy on 'Alias'

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - Jennifer Garner is expecting a baby, so her "Alias" character will be too, even though she's a globe-trotting spy. "We are going to embrace the fact that she's pregnant," ABC programming chief Stephen McPherson said, referring to the character, Sydney Bristow.

NEW YORK (AP) - Fox proved that TV viewers' summer infatuation with dance may not be just a passing fancy. The network's debut of "So You Think You Can Dance," an "American Idol"-like competition for hoofers, pulled in 10.3 million viewers last week, according to Nielsen Media Research.

D'Onofrio happy to share duties with Noth

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - Vincent D'Onofrio, who was hospitalized briefly last year for exhaustion, says he now has "the cushiest job on television." D'Onofrio will be splitting the workload on NBC's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" with Chris Noth, who left the original "Law & Order" series 10 years ago. Each actor will appear in 11 episodes.
 
'Law & Order' creator expects more series
