Smith's daughter nears 1st birthday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Anna Nicole Smith's daughter, Dannielynn, will celebrate her first birthday next month at a party in Louisville. The party will be held at the home of Tricia Barnstable Brown, who hosts an annual Kentucky Derby-eve party packed with celebrities. Smith and Dannielynn's father, Larry Birkhead, met at the 2003 party.

Kristen Bell to appear on NBC's 'Heroes'

DETROIT (AP) - Kristen Bell is going from solving mysteries to being a part of one. The 27-year-old actress, who starred for three seasons as teenage detective Veronica Mars on the now-canceled show of the same name, will appear in a multi-episode arc on NBC's "Heroes" this fall.

LODI, N.J. (AP) - Now that "The Sopranos" is over, the owners of the real-life club that played the part of the Bada Bing will auction off the 12-foot stripper poles and other relics from the HBO drama on eBay.

'High School Musical 2' sets record

LOS ANGELES (AP) - "High School Musical 2" proved the Disney Channel can boast of more than a one-hit TV wonder. Friday's premiere drew an audience of 17.2 million, making it the most-watched basic cable program ever, according to Nielsen Media Research. It more than doubled the viewership of the first movie, "High School Musical," which drew 7.7 million in 2006.
