Kanye West rips Bush at hurricane aid show

NEW YORK (AP) - A celebrity telethon for Hurricane Katrina survivors took an unexpected turn when outspoken rapper Kanye West went off script during the live broadcast, declaring America is set up "to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off as slow as possible."

Rumsfeld postpones Letterman appearance

NEW YORK (AP) - Due to hurricane relief efforts in the Gulf Coast, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld has postponed an appearance on the "Late Show With David Letterman" that had been set for this coming week.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - Jerry Lewis can pinpoint the moment he knew his Labor Day telethon had to be more than another chapter in his long effort to help children with muscular dystrophy. It had to benefit hurricane victims, too.
