Midwest hotel chain drops CNN over video

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - A Midwest hotel chain has pulled CNN from the TV channel lineup in its guest rooms, saying the cable network was aiding terrorism with the broadcast of a video showing Iraqi snipers shooting at U.S. troops.

Emmitt Smith wins ABC's 'Dancing' title

NEW YORK (AP) - Emmitt Smith danced off with the mirror ball. The three-time Super Bowl champion, who proved to be as nimble on his feet in the ballroom as on the football field, was named the winner of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" Wednesday night. With the victory came the glittering trophy. The NFL's all-time leading rusher beat out actor Mario Lopez.

NEW YORK (AP) - When the comedian Bill Maher went on "Larry King Live" and alleged that some top Republican operatives were gay, it was too much detail for CNN, which edited the remarks out of later broadcasts and off the transcript on its Web site.
