Film, TV writers set negotiations date

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Hollywood film and TV writers who've been on strike nearly two weeks will return to contract negotiations on Nov. 26, their union and producers said Friday.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - An international audience joined a Kansas City crowd as Garth Brooks played the final show of the concert series that ended his nine-year touring hiatus. The show was simulcast to fans in movie theaters across North America and Europe on Wednesday. The 45-year-old country singer had retired from touring to be a stay-at-home dad.
 
'Dr. Phil' critic wants agreement voided

PHOENIX (AP) - A Phoenix man is asking a court to set aside a settlement agreement and clear the way for a $100 million lawsuit against Dr. Phil McGraw and the producers of his TV show for discrimination. Neal David Sutz said staff members at the "Dr. Phil" show discriminated against him after he told them he had bipolar disorder.
 
Couric mocks Dan Rather in Web video

NEW YORK (AP) - Though battles between news anchors have historically been between rival networks, today's ripest feud is a purely CBS affair: Katie vs. Dan. The rivalry took a humorous turn Thursday when a video was posted on the Web showing Katie Couric mocking Dan Rather while preparing to anchor a broadcast from Nashville, Tenn., last week.

NEW YORK (AP) - Paige Davis is moving back to TLC's "Trading Spaces." The Broadway actress and TV host will return to the once-popular home makeover series beginning in January, the network said in a statement Thursday. In 2005, TLC announced Davis would no longer host "Trading Spaces" and transitioned the series to a host-less format.
