KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A man spit tobacco juice into the face of Jane Fonda after waiting in line to have her sign her new memoir. Capt. Rich Lockhart of the Kansas City Police Department said Michael A. Smith, 54, was arrested Tuesday night on a municipal charge of disorderly conduct.

Marilyn Monroe's estate items to be sold

NEW YORK (AP) - Over 200 personal and professional items from the estate of Marilyn Monroe will be put up for auction in June. Stored for 43 years, the items include her Joe DiMaggio divorce papers, her personal phone directory and an original watercolor painting Monroe made and inscribed to President Kennedy for his birthday.

Screening of Dutch Van Gogh film scrapped

BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) - The European Parliament said Wednesday it had scrapped the screening of murdered Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh's short film criticizing the treatment of women under Islam because of legal concerns and security fears.
