Hollywood director Sherman dies at 99

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Vincent Sherman, who directed _ and romanced _ Bette Davis, Rita Hayworth and Joan Crawford during his heyday as a leading Hollywood filmmaker in the 1940s and '50s, has died. He would have been 100 on July 16.

Jolie, Pitt plan to adopt another child

NEW YORK (AP) - Angelina Jolie says she and Brad Pitt, who have three children including a newborn daughter, are planning to adopt another child. "Next, we'll adopt," Jolie tells CNN's Anderson Cooper in an interview to air Tuesday on "Anderson Cooper 360" (10 p.m. EDT).
 
'Cars' speeds to $33.7M box-office win

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Cartoon autos beat Mexican wrestlers and real racing cars at the box office. "Cars" took in $33.7 million to remain the top movie for a second straight weekend, while Jack Black's wrestling comedy "Nacho Libre" debuted at No. 2 with $28.3 million.
 
Plagiarism case against Clooney rejected

PARIS (AP) - A French court dismissed a lawsuit against George Clooney and Warner Bros. filed by a screenwriter who alleged "Syriana" was plagiarized from her script, court officials said Monday.
 
Kidman, Urban in Sydney for wedding

SYDNEY, Australia (AP) - Nicole Kidman and fiance Keith Urban came home to Australia on Monday to be married, they said in a joint statement. "We are very happy to be back in Australia," they said in a joint statement carried by Australian Associated Press. "We have come home to celebrate our wedding with our family and friends."
