Cruise production biz finds new backers

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Tom Cruise's production company, which broke ties with Paramount Pictures last week in an unusually public dispute, has signed a two-year financing deal with an investment partnership headed by Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder.

'Invincible' rushes to top of box office

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Mark Wahlberg's football tale "Invincible" debuted as the top weekend movie with $17 million. The top 20 movies at U.S. and Canadian theaters Friday through Sunday, followed by distribution studio, gross, number of theater locations, average receipts per location, total gross and number of weeks in release, as compiled Monday by Exhibitor Relations Co.
