One World Symphony plays new compositions

NEW YORK (AP) - A McDonald's commercial inspired Sung Jin Hong to become a conductor _ of classical music. It wasn't a juicy burger that seduced the then-14-year-old but a girl playing a Beethoven piece on piano. Now, at 29, the Korean-born, Vienna-trained conductor leads his own orchestra in New York, called One World Symphony.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (AP) - Michael Jackson's child molestation trial has started to look like an X-rated show, complete with lurid magazine covers of topless women projected on a large screen in the courtroom. The prosecution intended from the outset to haul Jackson's reading materials before jurors, implying that he used the magazines to arouse young boys.

Mandela hosts AIDS awareness concert

GEORGE, South Africa (AP) - Former South African President Nelson Mandela, playing host to his second AIDS awareness concert on Saturday, told a crowd of 20,000 that women bear the brunt of the AIDS pandemic that has infected some 25 million people in Africa.
