Latino pop stars sing to support migrants

NEW YORK (AP) - Mexican pop diva Gloria Trevi, Puerto Rican reggaeton Ivy Queen and Tito El Bambino and other Latino artists are recording a Spanish-language version of the U.S. national anthem in a show of support for migrants in the United States.

BELFAST, Northern Ireland (AP) - Call it "Alpine Idol." Aspiring stars strutted their stuff at a Belfast hotel Saturday, hoping to win the part of novitiate-turned-nanny Maria in a big-budget London production of "The Sound of Music."
 
Bassist Edgar Meyer releases solo album

NEW YORK (AP) - Edgar Meyer has recorded with Yo-Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, James Taylor, fiddler Mark O'Connor, banjo player Bela Fleck, among many others. Now he has recorded by himself, cutting a CD of 14 pieces he composed. Through the manipulations of multitrack recording, he performs on 10 different instruments _ three kinds of basses, two types of mandolins plus piano, guitar, banjo, dobro and gamba.
